MineCraft 1.5.2 Modding

My new role in the house is to install MineCraft mods. Seems easy enough but it does become tedious making sure you got everything is correct. I have learned to follow these simple steps when installing a mod. 1.) Most Important back up the .mindcraft folder. (this is located in a hidden folder in windows you can search for it by putting in %appdata% in the search bar but for me I just went into the control panel to folder options and clicked "show hidden files" and since I know that mincraft is unique to the profile of the person logged in on the computer the appdata folder is always C:\Users\\appdata) I have been backing it up to another folder I made on the desktop called MineCraft Modding and the I create a sub-folder for each mod I install like "mincraft backup before MinecraftForge". Backing this up first let me always revert back if things went haywire. 2.) Download WinRar and install it. 3.) Download propective Mod 4.) Open the new mod with WinRar 5.) Open my minecraft.jar file with WinRar (c:\users\\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\bin) 6.) With the two windows open I deleted the META INF folder in the minecraft.jar(orignal file) 7.) Copy all the files from the previously open propective new mod in the other WinRar window over to the main minecraft.jar in the second WinRar window. I like to use Select All(Ctrl-A) and then Copy(Ctrl-C) and the click in the minecraft.jar WinRar window and hit Paste (Ctrl-V) 8.) I put the fully Zipped mod in the Mods folder located at c:\users\\appdata\roaming\.minecraft. If there is not a mods folder create one and put it inside it and all subsquent mods you download. Need help modding? Leave a comment below I can help if I am able. Try to leave the following information what mod you are downloading and what version of MineCraft you are running.
